AnimeDemons Browser Extension – Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the AnimeDemons browser extension (“Extension”) uses data when you install and use it together with the AnimeDemons website (https://animedemons.ro).
1. Data the Extension uses
The Extension does not create a separate account and does not collect any additional personal data beyond what is already used by the AnimeDemons website.
The Extension may access:
– AnimeDemons session cookies
Used only to check if you are logged in to your AnimeDemons account and to associate your watchlist, notifications and profile data with your account.
– Watchlist and anime data
The Extension reads and updates your AnimeDemons watchlist, watched episodes, airing schedule and notification status through our official API.
– Extension settings
Preferences such as theme, notification options, layout and other local settings are stored only in your browser’s extension storage.
The Extension does not collect or store sensitive categories of data such as financial information, health information, personal communications, or web history outside AnimeDemons.
2. How data is used
Data is used only to provide the Extension’s core features:
– displaying and updating your watchlist and watched episodes
– checking for new episodes and creating notifications
– showing your user name, avatar and profile information from AnimeDemons
– remembering your UI and notification preferences
We do not sell, rent, or transfer user data to third parties.
3. Cookies
The Extension uses existing AnimeDemons cookies (credentials: „include”) solely to verify your logged‑in status and to perform authenticated requests to our API.
The Extension does not access or store third‑party cookies and does not track your activity on other websites.
4. Data sharing and third parties
– No user data collected or used by the Extension is sold or transferred to external third parties.
– Data is sent only between your browser and animedemons.ro (and subdomains owned by us) to provide watchlist and notification functionality.
5. Data retention
– Account‑related data (watchlist, notifications, profile info) is stored on AnimeDemons servers under the same rules as the main site account.
– Extension preferences are stored locally in your browser and are removed when you uninstall the Extension or clear your browser data.
6. Your choices
You can:
– disable or limit notifications from the Extension at any time through the Extension settings and/or your browser’s notification settings
– remove all locally stored data by uninstalling the Extension or clearing extension storage in your browser
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Extension after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
